Ok...it's Friday...no letters yet for our finger printing appointment! Yes, I am freaking out 'just a little'. I need to make a hotel reservation if we are going to Jax, need to get things together and ready to go...and the email said that our appointment is on Tuesday!! Yes, TUESDAY. Today is FRIDAY...we HAVE TO have that paper in order to be finger printed. We have to drive either 4 hours one direction, or 6 hours the OTHER direction - depending on which Dept of Homeland Security office we are being sent to.
You see, you can't just walk up and say you have an appointment. Oh no. It's not that easy. You can't take ANYTHING in with you. There is security OUTSIDE the main entrance door. They are not hired to be friendly. It's a bit intimidating. If you don't have your piece of paper and photo ID, forget it. They don't even greet you. They just hold out their hand and say 'documents please'. At least they say please. Well, they did the last time we were there.
