Birth Parents

Prayer request today: For all birth parents.  For strength, wisdom, and love for their unborn children...that if they are in an uncertain situation, that they may choose LIFE for their child.  Please pray for peace and strength to those who have chosen adoption for their children.

I am reminded of birth parents today.  They never leave my mind, they just get tucked behind a few things now and then and God will move them to the front to be thought about, prayed for, and loved. They make a very difficult decision - depending upon their circumstances - circumstances we do or don't know about...and they just need prayer and the Lord's loving arms to surround them and comfort them and shield them.

I know you may not believe this....but our boys... have very similar birth parent stories.  Not completely the same, but very, very similar.  Only God could do that. Make two boys, born at different times, on opposite sides of the planet, have similar birth parent stories and make them brothers in the same family.  Two brothers from completely different cultures share very delicate, very similar personal stories that make them who they are. That is a gift from God. A small thread that weaves them together in the tapestry of our family and God's kingdom.

Do we know our boys birth parents?  E-man's yes, we do his birth mom.  We maintain a semi-open adoption with her, meaning we send yearly updates and photos.  We don't meet for tea, or share in birthday parties....but we do send updates.  Baby T's birth mom we are hoping to meet.  We really, really want to make the journey to meet her while we are in ET. We will know more about that as we draw closer to time to travel, but it is a desire to meet her.

We also just learned that our very close friends {my BF!} got THE CALL yesterday! They are adopting domestically and they need your prayers too.  Please pray for the birth parents, the baby, our friends, and a God-driven, smooth process.  Things can get complicated - but we know the man in charge, the man who designs our families and we know that he is full of good gifts.  Thank you for your prayers and support.
