Love &Thoughtfulness of Friends

I had my flip flops blessed right off this morning.  We went to church - Will was already there and E and I came a little later. {Some background that I haven't written about... Will is now an Elder...he was nominated and voted in about a month ago.  Funny, I was nominated and elected to the PPC at the same time.

When we received our referral, we made the decision that I would not stay on the PPC - our kids are going to require 100% of my time and energy and with the transition within our family, I don't need any distractions or things that will take me away from the nurturing that needs to happen from the start.  And since the PPC board is new and just getting started, it made sense to have my replacement get in on the ground floor and not wait.}  So, E and I arrived and went to the cry room for the church service.  We are not putting E in the nursery any longer...I don't want to get into it here, but we know what is best for our children and he's better off not going into the nursery.

So we got there, got comfortable (the speaker in the cry room was on, and I noticed that even on 'low' it was still too loud for E so I just turned it off and listend the best I could through the glass) and read books, had our snacks, drank our water, looked for daddy through the glass....gave a big cheer; waved to everyone he knows...he did really well. Soon, my good friend Trish came in. It was soooo good to see her - we haven't seen each other in a while now and it was nice to share a hug.  We have been talking on the phone and texting...but haven't seen each other. I love her to pieces. She came, and just blessed us.  She had a gift for baby T with her too! I love that she loves our baby boy and is just as excited as we are to bring him home. She has walked with us every single step of the way on this journey. She has been with us since day 1.  She had an AWESOME gift for him - one she so wanted to get for him... it is this:

I absolutely LOVE this!! I love this, because it has sweet jungle sounds and it does soothe and help one go to sleep with the rhythmic sounds...not that I would know first hand or anything :).  And I love it because we got E one last year for Christmas.  We got him the larger one and this one for baby T is the small one that we can take with us for sure when we go to ET!  Trish also let me borrow her baby wrap and I will be taking this to ET with me for sure! We do have a baby carrier (Baby Bjorn), but I like the wrap better - it allows the baby to be very close to you and have skin time. And her wrap seems like it doesn't put as much stress on your shoulders like mine does.  She ALSO had books for E that her son enjoyed! He loves them and we read them this morning during church. I am blessed by Trish's love and thoughtfulness!

We made it through church - E did really good.  I give him credit for doing so well and handling himself wonderfully.  He getting in touch with how he feels, learning to recognize when he isn't in sync, when he needs food... it is a marathon, but we are taking it a step at a time. The diet, being gluten/wheat free and dairy free have made a huge difference.  He is really doing well and I am thankful that we made the change. For his sake.

Then as we were leaving, I saw my other great friend, Roberta and the kids.  I love this woman.  I love her kids. She and I have a lot to catch up on and are going to meet and do so...I can't wait to hear all about what she is doing, how her trip to Haiti was, and just catch up.  Things have just been so crazy lately...but we are getting together.  She too blessed my flip flops off today!  She had some cereal for E!!

I mean seriously! How blessed are we? We have got some pretty incredible friends and I am so thankful for them and what they do for us...how much they care!  God brings people into our lives...some stay for a season, some for a lifetime.  I know these two women are for a lifetime and I thank God for them and all the wonderful ways God is blessing their lives.

We have amazing friends. On a day that I wasn't sure I was ready for, our children were blessed in big ways.  Thank you, Lord for these women...and their hearts. Not only their hearts for You, not only for my family, but for their hearts for the fatherless.  Thank you for the gift of these two sisters.

{Oh mom...I didn't wear flip flops to church...I wore heeled sandals}  ;)
