YAY!!!!!

Our International Home Study is D.O.N.E. DONE!!!  We had several speed bumps along the way, but its done and we are thankful. The Home Study is being sent to the International office for review (hope to have it back in the local office by Tuesday next week) and then onto meet up with our I-600A paperwork. Then, we will wait for our letter to go and get our finger printing done at an official USCIS office (Jax or New Orleans). I am hoping the appointment is on a Friday and we can have a little getaway at the same time.

From what I understand, the finger printing appointment comes pretty quick after all the documents are received and money paid. Then, once we get the finger prints in, we wait for I-171H. This is THE PAPERWORK we so badly want to receive. This the advance petition to adopt and orphan...once we receive this, we move onto the next step...send our dossier to Ethiopia and then we WAIT for our referral.

So things are moving along...it's a LONG process - but so worth it. We celebrate every milestone we reach and as we complete each step. And, we enjoy the journey though it may be stressful at times. And we read, read, read, read, read!

What's on the nightstand right now?  This book:
