Step One

"The LORD defends the rights of orphans and widows. He cares for foreigners and gives them food and clothing. And you should also care for them..." Deuteronomy 10:18-19

How great is our God? When he speaks, do we listen? Who are we to say NO to God? Our lives are to be lived to please God, and to be obedient unto His word.

We had a few moments of "is this right? God, is this desire of our heart aligned with the desire of your heart for our family?" when we filled out the preliminary application. As with our first adoption, this is a complete walk of faith - and we are doing just that. I completed the application and got the message after it was sent, "thank you for completing the preliminary application for adoption. your application will be reviewed by one of our international adoption specialists and then if approved will be forwarded to the local office. You can expect to hear from us within 1-2 business days." I paraphrased....so after I sent it, I prayed again. Asking God for confirmation that this is HIS will...this is a journey that we want to be sure we are aligned with God on...we so want to be sure our every step is directed by Him.

So I gave it over to God. I went about my business, sending emails, etc..etc...and well what do you know? There in the inbox is an email from Bethany...within 2 hours our preliminary application was accepted, and I received an email from the local office with more information and paperwork.

OK God...I gotcha - we are aligned...yippie!!

So now we complete the formal application and then get started on the home study. The formal application is pretty intense; it has questions in in a lot like our home study questionnaire had when we adopted Ethan. So...guess we better get started! We are really excited!!
