The Christmas Tree

We are getting ready for Christmas! We decided to retire our "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" and we sprung for a live tree this year! It is beautiful and I am asking myself why we haven't had a real tree in the past. Every year we said we'd get a new tree - we've had the Charlie Brown tree since we were first married! It's pretty funny...we were desperate for a tree and found it at Eckard Drug when Eckard's was around, on an after Christmas sale and I think we paid $6 for it. It stood 5 feet tall, and it was sparse! We laugh and joke about it every year - and load it up with lights. So, I will be sad it's gone, but I love the look and smell of a live tree.

This morning Ethan was looking around the house and said, "God made the tree" and he pointed to it. Out of the clear blue he says this. And he went on to tell me what else God made. I said, and God made you. He looked at me a little puzzled, then said, "God made Ethan?" I said, yes! God made you! He said with a smile..."God made Ethan! and Mommy! and Daddy!! and Tessa!" I said, yes, even Tessa.

Now it's time to work on the Christmas cards. I hope to have them out BEFORE Christmas... trying to decide what card, what pictures, what to say... and then I learned that Shutterfly is giving away cards...for FREE. Who doesn't like FREE??? You can get cards too just by clicking here   Have you seen the huge selection of cards they have? I am really impressed! They have flat cards, folded cards, you can make simple cards or ones with lots of pictures. What I really like is the big selection of religious cards. There are lots of cute cards too - like this

It's time to get back to the decorating and cookie baking. Have a blessed week!

I came back to add this video... this song brought Will to tears. I do like me some TobyMac! We can get all caught up in preparing for Christmas...but I hope you will remember with me the millions of children who do not have a family and are alone this Christmas. These kids DESERVE a family...that is what God intended for all children. So please remember the fatherless and pray for them. Pray that more families would step up and welcome orphaned children into their hearts and homes...perhaps that family is you. Blessings to you.
